We’re bursting with pride! Three Louis Riel Arts and Technology Centre alumni have been recognized on Ace Burpee’s annual list of Manitoba’s 100 Most Fascinating Manitobans.
Justine Proulx – Hairstyling
Hairstyling graduate Justine Proulx left her mark on LRATC – literally. Her stunning artwork still graces the walls of our school, and many other schools in LRSD and other metro Winnipeg school divisions, bringing beauty and inspiration to students and staff every day. Justine’s creative vision extends far beyond the salon chair, and we’re thrilled to see her artistic talents gaining the recognition they deserve.
Taylor Brewster – Esthetics
Esthetics alumna Taylor Brewster is taking her skills to the world stage. After winning gold at the Manitoba and Canadian Skills Competitions, Taylor is now representing Canada at the WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai. Her journey from LRATC graduate to international competitor showcases the world-class training our programs provide and the dedication our students bring to their craft.
Justin Plourde – Automotive Technology
Automotive Technology graduate Justin Plourde answered the call when Manitoba needed him most. During the devastating wildfires in spring and summer 2025, Justin went above and beyond in firefighting efforts, demonstrating courage and commitment to his community. His recognition reminds us that the skills and work ethic developed at LRATC extend far beyond the classroom and shop floor.
Congratulations to Justine, Taylor, and Justin! You make the entire LRATC community proud, and you’re inspiring the next generation of skilled trades professionals walking our halls today.
